Baby Guru dropped a new track a few days ago from their upcoming album ‘IV’. The song, ‘Tell Me What You’re Made Of’, has two sides to it. The intricate guitar riff’s and the soft voice that moves the listeners with it’s Sinatra-esque rhythm. Then the sharp turn to a more 80’s sound with strong kraut-rock elements and a crisp guitar riff which shapes the song into a more pop-based beat. The synth adds a great layer to the song hinting signs of Bowie. The way the band can deftly merge into genres and sound relaxed at the wheel with both styles is great and builds a strong base for the song but; the opening does sound a little flavourless. Perhaps the vocals could have a little more character and meaning especially because the rhythm is so strong and vocal sounds a little powerless beside it. Still a fun listen regardless.
