Deerhoof has has put together an amazingly freaky, dynamic and utterly intoxicating claymation video for their lead single that’ll rip the attention away of any stoner around and leave them drooling for more.

Deerhoof – ‘the Devil and his Anarchic Surrealist Retinue’

The song kicks off with a faint and uneasy, somewhat eerie intro as vocalist Satomi Matsuzaki utters, ‘the magic’ – a fitting intro to their entire new album of the same name. From there, it’s hollow metal guitar shreds and a pulsing drumbeat that leads immediately into a broad dreamscape of colour and confused coherence that’s oddly beautiful and frankly, fucking bad ass to witness. It’s experimental avant-pop-rock that, as a whole, is only comparable to itself. Deerhoof has not only crafted a unique and bold album with ‘The Magic’, but they’ve also put together an amazingly freaky, dynamic and utterly intoxicating claymation video for their lead single that’ll rip the attention away of any stoner around and leave them drooling for more. A perfect pairing with the cut’s name and feel, the video – ‘the Devil and his Anarchic Surrealist Retinue’ – is something to behold and worthy of endless, maddening repeats. We’re hooked.
